With the hip being the second most mobile joint in the body (beaten out by the shoulder) it needs attention. Since it carries the weight of the body, it becomes much more important. The largest muscles in our body live around the hip and are responsible for its motion and stability. If you feel like you are always pulled in many directions at once, try being the hip. With the hamstrings, quads, glutes, and others it’s not easy. ¬†Then add the weight of the whole body! Wait, what about being assigned to a runner!? It’s a lot!

Hip Pain

Like the shoulder, the hip is a ball and socket joint. A lot of hip pain stem from this structure and the ligaments that make it up. Usually, it’s a problem with the muscles around the hip and some imbalance there. Sometimes this is due to a problem that is present at birth and development. This can make life hard. Either way, treating the muscles and areas of the body upstream and downstream will play a role. That’s where we come in.

Be sure to tell your chiropractor if you have any numbness or tingling down the leg, into the groin, or loss of control with bladder or bowel.
